This year has been huge for me.
Not only did I get married and had an amazing honeymoon, I left my design job of 5 years and started freelancing.
It’s been a roller coaster ride and at times I thought I wouldn’t last long, but I’ve held it together, kept my head high and reached out to the creative community of Melbourne. I’ve used the time to work on my own personal projects, blogged, went to lots of meetings/conferences and practiced refining my skills.
This year I have freelanced in 3 studios, completed my first annual report, 2 re-brandings, one new branding, some illustration work, some social media work and of course lots of Graphic Design. For the past 3 months I have been on a contract with an in-house design studio inside a business doing alot of packaging.
I have been to events such as AGideas, Semi-Permanent, AGDA after hours, AGDA Question Time, The Chair, Creative Women’s Council, Going Solo, Social Melbourne, Entrepreneur events at The Hub, Junior, Creative Mornings, Field Trip, Sex Drugs & Helvetica, countless exhibitions and more.
I’ve met alot of other designers, photographers, artists, editors, web developers and have developed not only some great contacts, but some good friends as well.
Eat, drink & be merry!
