It’s hard to believe that 2013 is about to come to an end.
I’ve now been freelancing for over 18 months and still going strong.
This year I finished up a 6 month contract in March, and freelanced inside 2 companies, and 6 design studios.
Two of these studios were for quite a long stretch for me going over a few months, and I really enjoyed making friends and getting to know the ins and outs of the studios. I have also signed up with a studio to freelance throughout January next year and I’m really excited about that because it’s a place I always wanted to work at.
In my home studio I worked on 3 brandings, some great packaging and stickers, 2 websites, a Primary School yearbook, some posters, flyers and documents.
I have discovered a love of hand lettering and really emersed myself in learning how to create beautiful letters by practicing everyday. I post a lot of my sketchbook on instagram, have really developed my own style and I’m really proud of what I have achieved. I hope that my skills will one day help me do some commissioned lettering projects, and I really like chalkboard stuff.
I have started selling prints/cushions/mugs/iphone cases online at Society6 and I have sold a few items, which is really exciting.
I’ve had a great year, and I hope you have too!
Merry Christmas and I’ll be posting again in a couple of weeks xx
